This Privacy Policy explains how NautiSignal (“NautiSignal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the NautiSignal mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information you provide when you register, such as your name, email address, and mobile phone number.
- Authentication data, including one-time passcodes (OTPs) used to verify your identity and secure your account.
- Usage and device information, such as app interactions, device type, operating system, and log data, used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Send one-time passcodes (OTPs) and identity- or login-verification messages by SMS;
- Authenticate you and protect your account against unauthorized access;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service; and
- Communicate with you about your account, security, or support requests.
3. SMS / Text Messaging
NautiSignal sends SMS text messages containing one-time passcodes and identity- or login-verification codes only to users who have given express consent: providing a mobile phone number is accompanied by a separate, unchecked-by-default consent checkbox at the point of collection, and no SMS is sent without it. These messages are transactional and are triggered by your own actions (for example, logging in or verifying your account). We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your activity. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for assistance.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information shared with subprocessors solely to deliver the messaging Service (for example, our SMS delivery provider) is limited to what is required to send the messages and is excluded from any such sharing.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf to operate the Service (such as our cloud hosting and SMS delivery providers), under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of NautiSignal or others; and
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. One-time passcodes are short-lived and expire shortly after they are issued.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You may access, update, or request deletion of your account information by contacting us.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
