SMS Opt-In

How captains opt in to text messages

A public sample of the SMS consent step captains complete on the NautiSignal captain setup form — the exact wording and the separate, unchecked-by-default checkbox.

This is a sample. It shows exactly how the SMS consent step appears on the live captain setup form. It is a static illustration only — nothing on this page is submitted or stored. The working form, where captains register a vessel for a tournament, is at app.nautisignal.com/captain/setup.

How consent is collected

  • Standalone consent. SMS opt-in is a separate checkbox shown next to the mobile phone field. Creating an account or agreeing to the Terms does not by itself enroll anyone in text messaging.
  • Unchecked by default. The checkbox is never pre-checked. The captain must actively check it, and the form cannot be submitted otherwise.
  • Only two message types. Account verification codes (one-time setup and sign-in codes) and tournament operations messages such as catch confirmations and schedule updates. No marketing, promotions, sweepstakes, raffles, giveaways, contests, or sponsorship, and no third-party content.
  • Not a condition of purchase. Declining SMS does not affect tournament participation.
  • Opt out any time. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or contact info@nautisignal.com.
  • Live form: app.nautisignal.com/captain/setup. Submitting the working form requires a tournament invitation, but the consent step above is exactly what every captain sees before opting in.
