Live Catch Reporting

Live catch reporting for fishing tournaments.

The catch is called in, logged, checked and confirmed while the boat is still offshore — not when it reaches VHF range, cell range or the dock.

How a catch report travels

  1. Report. The captain holds one button on the handheld or the Captain app, or calls or texts the catch in. The boat is already on the screen; angler and species come from the roster the director loaded.
  2. Capture. The report arrives with the boat’s identity, an official server timestamp and its GPS position attached — nothing retyped, nothing to remember.
  3. Verify. Boundary, fishing hours and boat identity are checked automatically, and the results sit beside the catch on the director’s screen.
  4. Confirm. The director issues a unique color-and-number code. It is announced to the fleet, read over marine VHF, shown on the reporting boat’s handheld, and posted to the dock TV and the live leaderboard at the same moment.

The whole fleet hears the call and the confirmation as they happen. That is the difference: the tournament no longer finds out about a catch after the fact.

Built for Tournament Directors

Run the fleet. Verify catches. Keep the tournament moving.

One clear command center to manage offshore activity, reduce confusion, and stay in control from the first line in to the final horn.

Live Catch Dashboard

See catch reports as they come in — vessel, angler, species, time, status, and location — on one screen.

Vessel & Device Assignments

Boats, captains, anglers, and handhelds are assigned before the event so every report ties to the right team.

Boundary Verification

Help confirm whether a catch was reported inside the tournament boundary using GPS validation.

Fleet Announcements

Send official announcements, catch confirmations, and updates across the fleet — spoken, so they land, and carried over marine VHF so every boat hears them.

Safety Alerts

Prioritize safety checks, assistance requests, urgent alerts, and emergencies so serious situations rise to the top.

Post-Tournament Reporting

Review catch activity, timing trends, communication history, safety events, and tournament insights — and receive a completion report automatically when the tournament ends.

Built for the hard calls

  • Ties. Two releases in the same minute sort by server seconds, not by whose memory of the radio traffic wins.
  • Lines out. The clock is the server’s. A report at 3:00:41 for a 3:00 cutoff is flagged automatically instead of argued about.
  • Final 15. A hook-up called in the last fifteen minutes is time-stamped and confirmed by the director, then resolved after lines out.
  • Boundaries. A catch reported outside the line is flagged the moment it arrives — a review item at 10 AM, not a rumor at weigh-in.
  • Protests. Every report keeps its timestamp, position, confirmation code and the boat’s acknowledgment, so a protest is a lookup, not an argument.

Leaderboard live, official scoring your way

NautiSignal runs the live leaderboard from confirmed catches; official scoring can stay in your own system. At any point the director exports every catch in receive order with the official tie-break sequence, each row carrying its status, the reason for any disqualification, and a single counts-for-scoring column.

After the last line

When the tournament ends, the director receives a completion report automatically: catches and species, the hot times and hot zones, conditions at the catches, boat participation, safety events, and how the communication and connectivity held up.
