How the radios stay connected offshore
Most boats fishing offshore tournaments already carry satellite Wi-Fi such as Starlink. Our radios join that network, so the tournament channel reaches the boat wherever its Wi-Fi is up — far past VHF range and cell range.
- Boat Wi-Fi first. The radio rides the boat’s satellite Wi-Fi. Our radios join 2.4 GHz networks; if a boat’s router only broadcasts 5 GHz, tell us at registration and we provide a travel router, and we check the radio joins at the dock.
- Cellular when in range. Radios switch to cellular automatically near shore. With Full Signal Cellular, every radio arrives with our data for every fishing day — nothing for the boat to set up.
- No onboard internet, fishing far out? Add a Starlink rental for that boat, quoted separately with your event.
- Marine VHF still matters. Announcements and confirmations also go out over VHF from the director’s console, so a boat with no NautiSignal device still hears the tournament.
More on the satellite side: Starlink for boats and tournaments. Why VHF alone falls short offshore: how far a marine VHF reaches.
Flexible communication for every tournament.
An all-inclusive service — use assigned handhelds, the captain mobile app, or both. Every boat also hears tournament announcements on its own marine VHF. Boats without onboard internet can add a Starlink rental.
Tournament-Ready Handhelds
Assigned event radios included in your setup when teams want a simple push-to-talk device tied to scoring.
Captain Mobile App
Mobile access (iOS and Android) for catch submissions, backup voice communication, GPS timestamps, and review. Free on the App Store and Google Play.
Base Station Dashboard
A land-based command view for directors to verify reports and manage tournament activity.
The Captain app as it ships — real screens, captured on a demonstration tournament, not mockups.
The production handheld, photographed — its screens and badging rendered from the app’s own layout and wording, with a placeholder in the sponsor slot. The lit wordmark is the radio’s readiness mark: it appears only once every check passes, GPS fix included.
Built for one job, on one boat.
Assigned to a vessel for the length of the tournament, charged and enrolled before it reaches the dock.
- Assigned to one boatBound to the vessel for the event — no shared handsets, no ambiguity about who reported.
- Hold to report a catchBoat, angler and species are pre‑loaded. One press‑and‑hold sends it.
- Voice to Tournament ControlA dedicated channel back to the director, not an open party line.
- Mayday on the top buttonHold the orange button and the alert goes out with the boat’s position — to Tournament Control and the nearest boats.
- Acknowledgement on screenThe official confirmation lands back on the same screen, so the crew knows the catch counted.
- Sponsor spotlight between the actionIdle screens rotate your sponsors’ placements across the fleet.
Three fields and a press.
The boat is already on the screen. The captain picks the angler and the species from the roster you loaded, then holds the button.
The report leaves with its own timestamp and position. Tournament Control reads it back over voice, and the acknowledgement lands on the same screen — so the boat knows it counted before the crew is back in the chair.
Photographs of the issued handheld; the screens are rendered from the app’s own layout and wording.
